You’re on a call, text, or message — and something feels off.
This is likely a scam. A scam potentially occurs when someone receives a suspicious message or is being encouraged to take a suspicious action. Take action immediately:
- Take note of who they claim to be. If something feels off, pause the conversation—hang up or stop responding.
- Do not share your personal information or move money.
- Verify using a trusted source. Go directly to the company’s official website or phone number Never use links or contact info from the message.
- Still unsure? Report it.
- Email fraud@ufcu.org; or
- Call (512) 467-8080 and choose Option 5 → Option 4 → Option 2.
