Bill Pay

  • Bill Pay is a way to pay businesses directly from your account without using a card or check. Instead, you access Online Banking or the UFCU Mobile app on your device and authorize a payment to a biller. UFCU sends your payment electronically when possible or via a paper check through the mail. Payments can be sent as soon as possible or can be scheduled. They can be one-time payments or recurring.
  • There is no fee.
  • UFCU checking accounts are eligible.

Credit and Debit Cards

  • Locking a card is a security feature that prevents your card from being used for transactions until the card is unlocked. To lock or unlock a card, choose Cards » Manage Cards and select the card you want to manage. Then click the toggle to lock or unlock your card.
    1. Log into Online Banking or the Mobile app.
    2. In the top toolbar, select Cards » Manage Card.
    3. Select the card you want to replace.
    4. In the Self-Service section, click Replace.
    5. Select the reason. If you choose Lost or Stolen, the current card is blocked, and a new card number is issued. If you choose Damaged, it will have the same number as the old one. Note that you always have the option of picking up a replacement card from any branch.
    6. Confirm or change the mailing address.
    7. Click Order New, then OK.
  • When you report your card lost or stolen, a new card will be ordered for you and the missing card will be blocked immediately to prevent any potential unauthorized transactions.

Credit Coach

  • Personalized paths to credit improvement are a core capability of Credit Coach. This feature is designed to guide you toward creditworthiness standards for specific loans or credit products.

  • UFCU Credit Coach is powered by Credit Mountain, a fintech company committed to helping credit unions offer declined borrowers a path to approval. UFCU has provided its lending guidelines and underwriting criteria to Credit Mountain to help them determine creditworthiness thresholds. Your credit data is compared with the UFCU-provided lending standards, and Credit Coach shares whether you’re ready now can be ready with action. If you are not prequalified based on your credit, Credit Coach gives you a personalized credit improvement path that can help you achieve your goals.

  • No. Many factors influence loan approval, and many are outside the scope of Credit Coach. Ultimately, your loan or credit application will go through the UFCU underwriting process, and that will determine your eligibility.

  • Yes, you can set up the UFCU Mobile app to use Touch ID® and Face ID® on most Apple devices and Android Fingerprint ID on Android devices. If you do not enable a biometric login, you are guided through creating a permanent passcode for unlocking the app without the need to log in each time.

Money Market

  • A money market account offers flexible, high-yield savings that earns interest while continuing to provide access to your funds any time, day or night. You can access your funds without penalty anytime.

  • You can view and access your available money market funds immediately through UFCU Online Banking, Mobile Banking, Phone Banking, or by stopping by any location.
  • There is a minimum deposit required to open a money market account ($2,500). When money market accounts have a zero balance, they will be closed automatically. But any account with a balance of $.01 or more can remain open.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

  • MFA stands for Multi-Factor Authentication, which is a procedure that helps ensure only you can access your UFCU accounts through Online Banking.
  • MFA greatly decreases the chances that criminals can steal your Online Banking password. Usually, passwords are stolen when an unsuspecting user tries to access a site that is impersonating UFCU. MFA helps prevent this situation.
  • When you visit a UFCU branch, you know our faces and we know yours. MFA does the same thing over the Internet, helping us to more accurately identify each other. When you enroll in Online Banking, you will be prompted to enter a security code that helps us verify your identity.

Overdraft Services

  • Courtesy Pay is an Overdraft Service we offer to pay items when your checking account balance does not have sufficient funds. Instead of returning the transaction to the merchant for non-sufficient funds (NSF), we may pay it and overdraw your account. Courtesy Pay safeguards against unexpected life emergencies and may help you in avoiding fees from merchants, service interruptions, and the inconvenience of declined transactions.
  • A Courtesy Pay limit is the amount your account may go negative. You receive a $100 Courtesy Pay limit when your account is opened. After 90 days, your Courtesy Pay limit will increase based on the type of checking account you have.

    • Free and Teen Checking - $400 Courtesy Pay limit
    • Plus - $1,000 Courtesy Pay limit
    • Business Checking - $1,500 Courtesy Pay limit
  • Overdraft Protection Transfer and Courtesy Pay are two separate Overdraft Services offered by UFCU.

Overdraft Protection Transfer allows funds to be transferred from a previously linked UFCU account, such as savings, Money Market, checking account, or Line of Credit, to pay an item. Overdraft Protection Transfer will not allow the account to overdraft or (go into a negative balance) to pay an item. To designate which account(s) you’d like to enroll in Overdraft Protection Transfer, log into Online Banking or contact Member Services.

Courtesy Pay is a service that pays items that might otherwise be returned due to insufficient funds in your account, or when Overdraft Protection Transfer is unable to cover the transaction. If you have set up an Overdraft Protection Transfer source, we will try using this method before paying your overdraft utilizing Courtesy Pay.
