More Than a Jersey

Kaden’s journey to Texas State is rooted in resilience and community. With support from UFCU, he’s building a future beyond the game.

For Kaden G, representing the Texas State men’s basketball means more than wearing a jersey. It means representing home.

After Hurricane Katrina, Kaden’s family relocated to San Marcos, where he grew up alongside his seven siblings. The city quickly became more than a place to live. It became a community that helped shape who he is today. Now going into his senior year, the basketball guard proudly represents the Bobcats and the community that supported him growing up.

"From the court to the classroom, I've always felt at home in San Marcos," he said.

That sense of belonging has helped shape his experience at Texas State, where he’s become a key contributor for the Bobcats as they head into a new conference, while continuing to build his future beyond the court.

As a student-athlete, Kaden knows that preparing for the future is just as important as preparing for the next game.

Kaden expressed, "When it came to money, [he] needed a home base too. A place to plan ahead and feel financially confident".

That’s where UFCU comes in. We believe higher education opens doors far beyond graduation. Through local support and personalized guidance, we help students like Kaden navigate important financial decisions so they can stay focused on what matters most.

Kaden's story is a reminder that success isn’t about what happens on the scoreboard. It's built through the people, communities, and opportunities that shape what comes next.
