Serving Communities for 90 Years

As a new UFCU Member, Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger highlights how partnerships with organizations like UFCU help remove barriers and support students and families in Pearland ISD.

For Dr. Larry Berger, Superintendent of Pearland Independent School District (ISD), student success begins with meeting students’ most basic needs. When families are supported and barriers are removed, classrooms become places where students can focus, engage, and grow.

That belief is why partnerships with community organizations like UFCU matter. In December, UFCU donated $10,000 to Pearland ISD to help families pay outstanding student lunch balances,  providing immediate relief and reinforcing the district’s commitment to student well-being.

The UFCU donation was part of a $20,000 donation across Pearland ISD and Alvin ISD, benefiting districts that collectively serve more than 50,000 students and their families. The support reflects UFCU’s broader commitment to empowering communities as it expands its presence in the Greater Houston area.

As UFCU continues to grow in Pearland, it looks forward to building additional partnerships that support education, financial well-being, and long-term community impact. UFCU is proud to partner with leaders like Dr. Berger and Pearland ISD, working together to ensure students have the resources they need to succeed, today and in the future.
