UFCU Deepens Commitment to ACC Community with New Full-Service Branch at Highland Campus

Expanding Financial Services to Support Students, Faculty, and Staff, and Celebrating the Legacy of ACC’s Molly Beth Malcolm

AUSTIN, Texas, August 26, 2024 — UFCU, a leading Texas credit union, is proud to announce the opening of its new full-service branch at the Austin Community College (ACC) Highland Campus on August 26, 2024. This new branch will provide increased access to financial services for ACC students, faculty, and staff, furthering UFCU’s commitment to empowering all Texans to achieve financial success and brighter futures.

Located in the 1000 Building on the ACC Highland campus, this branch underscores UFCU’s dedication to increasing access to impactful financial solutions for the 75,000-plus students, along with the faculty and staff that make ACC one of the nation's most innovative and effective Community College systems. This initiative builds on the longtime partnership that expanded in 2022 when UFCU announced a $5 million scholarship endowment benefiting ACC students and granting UFCU naming rights to a new event space at the Highland Campus. This expansion reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing education and expanding financial opportunities.

“As someone who began my career at UFCU while attending ACC, I’ve developed a deep passion for the educational aspect of personal finance. I’m excited about this new opportunity to serve the ACC community at the Highland Campus,” said Michael Redding, ACC Highland branch manager. “Shared knowledge truly leads to shared success, and I’m thrilled to be part of this journey as we work further to enhance educational opportunities and financial literacy for all.”

The grand opening of the ACC Highland branch also honored the retirement of Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm, ACC Executive Vice Chancellor of Operations and Public Affairs. A dedicated UFCU Board of Directors member since 2017, Dr. Malcolm has played a pivotal role in strengthening the partnership between UFCU and ACC. Her legacy of service and commitment to embodying our values and sharing our purpose was celebrated at the opening event, marking her significant impact on both institutions.

“The opening of our new branch at ACC Highland represents a significant step forward in supporting the financial success of the ACC community. This branch is more than just a place for financial transactions; it’s a hub for education, empowerment, and partnership. We’re proud to deepen our relationship with ACC, an institution that shares our commitment to growth and opportunity,” said CEO and President Michael Crowl.

The ACC Highland branch is part of UFCU’s broader initiative to strengthen its community presence following the recent openings of the Georgetown and New Hope (Cedar Park) branches. By opening a UFCU account, ACC faculty, staff, and students will gain access to a comprehensive suite of membership benefits, including free checking options, affordable loan solutions, 24/7 ATM access, and the expert, friendly service that UFCU Members have come to trust. The ACC Highland branch hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 AM – 4 PM.
