For Daniel H, creating a safe and inclusive space for East Austin’s diverse community wasn’t a goal — it was a calling. A Texas Ex and long-time UFCU Member, Daniel turned his passion for fitness into a thriving business, Lift ATX. “I wanted to create a safe space for people from all backgrounds,” Daniel shares. “[Whether] you are a seasoned pro, powerlifter, or fitness enthusiast, there is a place here for you at Lift ATX.”

When reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Daniel emphasizes the importance of authenticity. “Most people can read through all the smoke and mirrors. Figure out what you are passionate about and lean into that. Your passion is going to [bring] that hard work and drive.”
Looking ahead, Daniel is focused on perfecting Lift ATX. “Growth is always on my mind. I know a lot of people ask me ‘When are you going to open another one,’ I feel like I’m not done making this one perfect. I would love to open another gym at some point. [However], I’m focusing a lot of my energy on making this one right.”
For Daniel, success isn’t just about growth — it’s about staying true to his roots. “Keep your money local. Go out and support these small businesses. It’s hard out here. Do what you can to support because it makes a huge difference. [Remember] to stay positive, be good, and be nice to people.”
With UFCU in his corner, Daniel is creating more than a business. He’s creating a community where everyone belongs. For Lift ATX, this is just the beginning.
